Construction on the New Hall of Shenzhen Culture Museum, originally known as Shenzhen Public Art Center, will start before June in Longhua District, a ceremony held Friday marking the launch of 200 projects in the second quarter (Q2) of this year showed.

The 200 projects, with total investments of 162.4 billion yuan (US$25.5 billion), is comprised of 121 government-funded projects and 79 private-invested projects.

For 2022, the government plans to invest 8.29 billion yuan and private investments are planned to reach 24.74 billion yuan.

The new hall is located northwest of Minzhi Boulevard and Minkang Road in Minzhi Subdistrict. It is 1.2 kilometers from Shenzhen North Railway Station. It will be a cultural landmark integrating education, exchange, training, performance, exhibition and culture creation, data from the Shenzhen Municipal Public Works Bureau showed.

The project, with a floor space of 83,290 square meters, is budgeted at 300 million yuan. It will be installed with a 1,200-seat theater, 500-seat small theater, exchange and display area, training area, and an art library, according to the construction plan.

The project, to be completed in 2025, will be the main venue of the city’s public culture service system and play a major role in building the city into a regional cultural central city.

The 200 projects for Q2 are mainly industrial, infrastructure and livelihood projects for residents’ well-being like the high-end lithium battery negative electrode material project in Guangming District, lab cluster of Harbin Institute of Technology (Shenzhen), housing project in Guangming and urban rejuvenation project in Hubei, Luohu District.

The battery project is a major industrial project among the 30 projects in Guangming that will start in Q2. The 30 projects will cost about 18.3 billion yuan. These consist of four industrial projects, four housing projects, seven livelihood projects and 15 infrastructure projects. Qianhai will invest 3.19 billion yuan this year on its projects to be launched in Q2. The projects include a 136,000-square-meter parking lot that can house 809 container trucks.
